Here is our latest interview for the In Session series, a space where we get to know more about Wavezoo DJs. This time, we want to introduce to you DJ ADFoster, a lover of music that loves watching people enjoy good music.
Read the full interview below.
1. How did you start DJing? Tell us about your origins
I’m someone who love life. I try not to take things too seriously. Most importantly, I try to live each day in the moment. Even though I do, I try to worry about things less and less and just do what I want to do. We are reminded on a daily basis that life is too short. Don’t let an opportunity pass you by.
I tell people that I have been a lover of music since my parent took away my pacifier and I sang instead of cried. Maybe not that long but I have always loved music.
In January of 2020 I started DJing on the Stationhead internet radio app. During lockdown I looked for other ‘virtual DJ’ opportunities. Twitch was a big thing and that’s mainly where I hung out.
2. Who would you say are your influences?
Much like my taste in EDM genres, my influences are varied. Giuseppe Ottaviani, Ben Bohmer, and Martin Garrix (mostly for his DJing style) are 3 of my favorites.
3. What do you think about the future of DJing? Where we are headed?
DJing is evolving to experience the technology that is evolving. The digital medium has allowed DJ to create live sets and live tracks right there on stage…during a set!
Now, AI is coming into the picture with DJs able to have AI suggest a playlist for them given a description of the type of music. There’s AI out there now that will produce a whole track for you based on input from you!
4. What can people expect from your shows?

I like to have fun, so I’m going to bring the fun with me to the party. Doing a virtual show also allows you to be more visual. Many of my shows are filled with videos. Many of the videos are stuff that I shot.
Do you want AD Foster to be the DJ at your party?
5. What would be your ideal party? Let people know what would be your top tracks
My ideal place for a party, would be overlooking one of the beautiful landscapes on the Azores. And a setup with a killer sound system. My perfect party would kick off with some beautiful Deep House then slide in to some Trance. Ratchet it up a bit as we jump into some techno. I’ve also meddled around with mashups of older pop tracks and recent EDM so I’d throw some of that in the mix too.
6. Help other DJs to level up, give the community a tip that will improve other DJs performance
All I say is be your own DJ. Be your own host. Yes, get ideas from other DJs even your favorites, but have your own voice. When people describe you, have them say, oh that the DJ that does…XXX.
7. Let the people know what is going on in your life
I’ve spent a lot of the beginning of 2023 making some new track. My next track, my first LoFi track
comes out April 10th! I’m also expanding my ‘in real life’ DJ presence. Right now I have a residency at DaCapo NYC.
