Here is our fourth interview for the In Session series, a space where we get to know more about Wavezoo DJs.
Always looking for improving and perfecting her skills, today we are glad to talk to the talented Christina Basiouka, known as Christine B, from Athens.
1. How did you start DJing? Tell us about your origins
I started performing in 2018 at small bars and cafes here in Greece. A friend of mine suggested me to start DJing because, as he said, I had a good “sense of music”. So I decided to give it a shot, since I knew that music was (and still is) a huge part of my life.
But I did not stayed there. 2 years ago, and again with the advice of a DJ friend, I started lessons for music production. So now I’m doing my first steps as a music producer and I have already released 6 tracks.

2. Who would you say are your influences?
Through time I have heard and loved many artist, DJs, and producers that I’ve got influenced. From the past, as I can recall, I would hear everything from Faithless to Pearl Jam and from Moby to Alice in Chains.
This period some of my favorite artists/DJs/producers are Worakls, Whoriskey, Space Motion and many others.
I can say that I have tried many genres from the electronic scene. I started with Deep House, Spiritual and Afro House. Now I’m moving through the sounds of Progressive House and Melodic House and Melodic Techno.
But generally, I find it challenging to try and make sets from genres that I do not usually play.
3. What do you think about the future of DJing? Where we are headed?
In my country, Greece, seems that we are a little bit slow in the “DJing” scene. I think that nowadays DJs are more interested to have an audience through their social media and from how they look, rather than through the music they play.
So I think that if we all try to play some good music and make our audience happy, then I see a bright future for DJing.
4. What can people expect from your shows?
As I said before, music is a huge part of my life. So I think that if people hire me, I will just tell them to trust me, and I’m sure, and I swear, that I will take them to a fantastic music journey.
5. What would be your ideal party? Let people know what would be your top tracks
My ideal party this period would be in a big club here in Greece, since I haven’t play in one so far. Little steps. I would like my track list to include tracks from my, this period, favorite DJs / producers, like: Worakls, Whoriskey, Space Motion others and also my released, and not only, tracks full of melodies.
6. Help other DJs to level up, give the community a tip that will improve other DJs performance
My advice to other DJs, would be, not to stop listening to any kind of music. Challenge yourselves by playing and mixing genres that is out of your favorites or usual ones. Practice as many times as you can. Get out and go to parties so you can see what people want to listen. Try to talk to them and why not invite them to your parties. When you are on the decks, just smile. Raise your glass and cheer them. If you can, dance with them.
I think that is a great project and I hope that would do your best to help upcoming and “old” DJs to show the worldwide the greatness of music through their sets.
