Recently, we’ve shared the famous list of the top 100 DJs of 2022, crowning David Guetta as The World’s No. 1 DJ for the third consecutive year. While his fans are celebrating this proud moment, many might beg to differ.
Not everyone has the same music taste; consequently, everyone has a different favorite artist. Still, some DJs have revolutionized the music industry and earned their positions as the GOAT!
The Top Seven DJs of All Time
Here are the top DJs of all time who have amassed a cult following thanks to their exceptional talent and outstanding contribution to music.
From Ibiza to New York, these artists have people dancing to their tunes everywhere.
1- Tiesto
Born Tijs Michiel Verwest, Tiesto has been named the Greatest DJ of all Time by several leading publications. Some even call him the father of EDM, as he produced trance music long before DJing became popular. Tiesto has been headlining the most significant shows for over twenty-five years.
2- Swedish House Mafia
SHM is a Swedish supergroup comprising Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, and Steve Angello. They perform house music and are called the faces of mainstream progressive house music for their contribution to EDM since the early 2010s. Don’t You Worry Child is the most popular song by the group.
3- Avicii
If anyone is new to EDM score, chances are that they will listen to Avicii’s hit Levels to begin their journey. This song has received critical acclaim for being the best EDM dance number. Avicii has explored many subgenres and produced superhit songs like Sunshine and the album True (2013), which topped the Billboard charts.
Sadly, Avicii passed away in 2018, but even today his songs are acclaimed worldwide and his name is still up there with the greatest DJs of all time.
4- David Guetta
DJ Mag magazine named David Guetta the top DJ of 2022 for the third time this year. This 52-year-old musician has two Grammys, one American Music Award, and a Billboard Music Award.
Guetta sold 65 million singles and ten million albums worldwide, his most notable work being When Love Takes Over, Sexy Bitch, Memories, and Titanium. With ninety-two singles and nineteen albums among the rest, it is never a dull moment with this EDM king.
5- Martin Garrix
Garrix is a young DJ/producer who rose to fame with his hit single ‘Animals’ in 2013. He is the youngest person to reach number one on Beatport and has held the position of No. 1 DJ worldwide for three consecutive years.
This win should be no surprise to his EDM fans since he is churning out chart-toppers – like In the Name of Love and Scared to Be Lonely – one after the other.
6- Nina Kraviz
Nina is a force to be reckoned with, and she knows that. This Russian DJ had a breakthrough in this male-dominated industry in a short while and continues to rule the techno scene. Kraviz is a singer, producer, and owner of a record label she launched in 2014.
There are many controversies around her name, but her music library is undeniably a banger and she’s usually considered one of the best female DJs.
7- Nervo
Nervo is a DJ duo from Australia that comprises twin sisters Miriam and Olivia Nervo. They entered the music industry at 18, signing the most prominent music production house- Sony Music. Since then, they have worked with many labels and artists to produce award-winning tracks.
Their songs frequently top the Club Charts, and their hit collaboration with David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, “When Love Takes Over,” won a Grammy. Their discography includes hits like You’re Gonna Love Again, Irresistible, and songs they co-wrote for other artists like Britney Spears, the Knocks, and Afrojack.
