Who is the world’s No 1 DJ?

top_100_djs_world

The prestigious dance music magazine DJ Mag has been publishing the list of the best DJs in the world since 1997, based on the votes of its users. Among the winners of the past years are famous DJs like Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, and David Guetta.

This year, electronic music lovers have once again chosen the 100 best DJs on the planet. And for the first time since 2022, Martin Garrix has been crowned as the best DJ in the world.

This is the third time that the Dutch DJ has reached the highest position in the Top 100, and it comes after a year in which he released his highly-anticipated album, “Sentio”.

Garrix enters the group who have managed to reach number 1 for the third time, along with Tiesto and David Guetta. Behind them are other famous DJs such as Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Hardwell, or Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike with two number ones.

Best DJ in the world in 2022/2023

DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll is now open for voting (until 13th September 2023). This music poll, celebrating its 30th anniversary, is the world’s largest publicly voted one, where you can choose your top five DJs, regardless of their follower count.

The winner of the top DJ 2023 will be announced in November, alongside a documentary highlighting the poll’s impact on music over the past 30 years.

Oliver Heldens is one of the main icons of Tech House and Future House. This genre created some controversy amongst many purist DJs, although he is currently producing under the alias “HI-LO”.

In 2014, he started to enter in the Top 100 best DJs list at number 34. From there, the Dutch DJ gained popularity, reaching number 8 this year.

9. Don Diablo

Don Pepijn Schipper, better known as Don Diablo, is a producer with one of the most impressive careers in the electronic music industry.

7. Steve Aoki

Although many consider him to be an Asian DJ, Steven Hiroyuki Aoki (better known as Steve Aoki), is an American DJ and producer.

The last Dutchman on the list is named Nick van de Wall, but is better known as Afrojack. In 2006, he became famous as an international DJ and is now considered one of the great references of the genre, collaborating with artists such as David Guetta, Steve Aoki and Pitbull, as well as the rapper Kid Cudi.
